It is a distinctly Florida Keys way to celebrate Halloween—surrounded by nature beneath the nighttime canopy of one of Marathon’s most unique historic and natural attractions. \nA Spooky Night in the Hammock\nVisitors can wander into the evening to meet Casper the Friendly Ghost\, watch the witches dance\, and venture along a torch-lit walk through a haunted part of the hammock. \nYoung visitors can dress in their Halloween best for the kids’ costume contest\, while families can enjoy hayrides and other activities throughout the evening. \nThe tropical setting gives the celebration an atmosphere all its own. Local participants and community supporters come together to create themed rooms designed to entertain—and frighten—visitors as they make their way through the haunted house. \nA Halloween Tradition in the Lower Keys\nThere is something especially fun about Halloween in the Florida Keys\, where community spirit and island creativity put their own twist on the spooky season. \nThe Lower Keys Rotary Haunted House brings that spirit to Big Pine Key\, creating a local Halloween attraction for residents\, families\, and visitors looking for something a little scarier than the usual fall festivities. \nThis year’s “Nighttime Screams ~N~ Bad Dreams” theme promises a world where nightmares come to life. Expect dark rooms\, eerie surprises\, imaginative displays\, and plenty of opportunities to scream as you make your way through the attraction. \nThe haunted house is also a wonderful example of the Lower Keys community coming together.
