WITCHES IN THE HAMMOCK

Halloween magic takes over the tropical hardwood hammock at Witches in the Hammock, a family-friendly fall celebration at Crane Point Museum & Nature Trails in Marathon.

For two evenings, Crane Point transforms after dark into a Halloween adventure filled with witches, ghosts, costumes, torch-lit trails, hayrides, and spooky surprises tucked among the trees. It is a distinctly Florida Keys way to celebrate Halloween—surrounded by nature beneath the nighttime canopy of one of Marathon’s most unique historic and natural attractions.

A Spooky Night in the Hammock

Visitors can wander into the evening to meet Casper the Friendly Ghost, watch the witches dance, and venture along a torch-lit walk through a haunted part of the hammock.

Young visitors can dress in their Halloween best for the kids’ costume contest, while families can enjoy hayrides and other activities throughout the evening.

The tropical setting gives the celebration an atmosphere all its own. Instead of a traditional autumn landscape, Halloween unfolds among native trees and winding trails, creating a fun mixture of Florida Keys nature and seasonal spookiness.

Food, including hot dogs, chili dogs, corn dogs, and roasted corn, is available during the event, with adult beverages also available for purchase.

Whether you bring the kids in costume, come to watch the witches dance, or are brave enough to explore the hammock after dark, Witches in the Hammock offers a fun Halloween tradition in the heart of the Florida Keys.
